This entry-level role is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations as they pertain to cyber security events and incidents. This position will also help implement, maintain, and grow our current day-to-day standard operating procedures. This position may also administer and help support various Cyber Security projects and initiatives including but not limited to incident response, identity access management (IAM), vulnerability management, SIEM maintenance, awareness training, PCI audits, and legal matters. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

  • Identify user security issues and work to troubleshoot and coordinate resolution by using a variety of applications and testing tools.
  • Someone that possesses the drive for continuous career and personal development through team building, training, and hands-on exercises.
  • Possess a natural curiosity for how things work, how to break them, and most importantly, interested in developing solutions that address the problems we face everyday.
  • Provide high-level proactive technical support to include security configurations, security policy modifications and diagnostics of remove network security issues.
  • Ensure security policies address business needs while protecting vital enterprise assets.
  • Possess a natural curiosity for how things work, how to break them, and most importantly, interested in developing solutions that address the problems we face everyday.
  • Perform network vulnerability scans and provide remediation support and alternatives.
  • Identify emerging vulnerabilities and evaluate associated risks and threats.
  • Provide back-up to Application Security Administrator as necessary.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, analytical thinking, organization, self-motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility, good communication skills and a customer service focused attitude are highly recommended
  • Committed to learning and advancing skill sets


Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity of common TCP/UDP ports and protocols
  • Basic understanding with security and networking technologies (Antivirus, firewalls, routers, switches, domain controllers)
  • Scripting (bash, python, powershell, etc)
  • Cloud platform experience is a huge plus
  • Basic familiarity with Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux, MacOS, iOS, and Android
  • Experience with projects or hands-on initiatives such as:
• Raspberry Pi, home media server, operating system virtualization, router/networking setup, IP cams, home labs, etc

Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or IT related field from a four-year college or university strongly preferred. 0-2 years of related experience is required.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
