This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily financial operations of the APAC HQ entities in Stryker. In this role, you will drive financial knowledge and discipline into the organization and be the finance business partner to support key business initiatives and projects. You will be empowered and expected to establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. In addition, there are opportunities to work closely with other team members to drive standardization and automation of the record-to-report (R2R) functions across APAC entities.
Your responsibilities can be classified into the following areas:
Controlling:
- Manage APAC HQ's accounting activities and structure; maintain systems, processes, and procedures to support the preparation of financial reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing and reporting of all financial information.
- Partner with the outsourced service provider to ensure the accurate and timely processing of OTC (Order to cash), PTP (Procure to Pay), and RTR (Record to Report).
- Manage DOA (Delegation of Authority) process and e-workflow system (NEXT).
- Manage travel & expense processes, including compliance with the policy, system (Concur), corporate card maintenance (AMEX), User training, and exception monitoring.
- Manage and improve the High-Risk Payment process (operation & enhancement).
- Develop and streamline processes and procedures to enhance the workflows and efficiency of the HQ operations.
- Maintain and execute an effective system of internal controls for areas of responsibility.
- Liaise and coordinate with other stakeholders on finance, treasury, audit, and tax issues.
Business Partnering:
- Develop and guide the operational process for new transactions.
- Lead/Manage HQ projects (e.g., process improvement, system implementation, and integration).
- Support the FP&A team on budget and forecasting activities as necessary.
- Provide consulting advice to the business; serve as a resource on matters that require financial expertise.
People Management:
- Provide training & coaching to guide and support the development of your direct report(s).
- Establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor progress.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Bachelors Degree majoring in Accounting/Accountancy or Finance.
- Qualified Accountant with a designation from a recognized accounting body (e.g. HKICPA, CPAA)
- 6 to 8 years of solid, hands-on accounting and audit experience ; experience gained in US MNC environment highly advantageous.
- US GAAP, SOX 404 experience preferred.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Risk management and internal control experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence and partner with leaders from cross functional teams.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Experience in project management.
- High ethical standards and integrity with a commitment to excellence and meeting high quality standards.
- Quick learner and resourceful; enjoys a fast-paced environment where you will have autonomy to manage your own work.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Practical knowledge of HFM /JDE would be an added advantage.
