Position Summary:
As the Data Engineer, this role will play a key role in the delivery of powerful data-driven products that enable innovative audience insights across livestreaming, podcasts, award-winning news website, mobile app, and live events, as we build toward a new model of subscription membership and unification across our channels.
Compensation:
The salary for this opportunity will be no less than $87,694 annualized and no more than $120,000 annualized. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, budget and internal equity.
Position Responsibility:
- Program in SQL, Python, integrating cloud services APIs to automate the processing of analytics, transactional, and marketing data from different networks.
- Serve as the data wrangler and ETL expert for the company.
- Ingest, transform, cleanse and augment internal and external data assets.
- Leverage a range of cloud services, ETL frameworks and libraries, such as AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Athena), MySQL, Python, Pandas, Apache Airflow, and Google Cloud, BigQuery, additional work in Azure Cloud Services and PowerBI, to surface analytics to guide business decisions.
- Integrate with media distributor APIs for analytics from live-streaming, podcasts, Apple and Google News, and an array of social networks, and marketing providers.
- Construct custom metrics and audience models toward actionable insights and product requirements.
- Build unique, custom dashboards in Data Studio to drive organization priorities
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Alternatively, 5+ years relevant experience with history of skills progression and demonstrated accomplishments.
- Minimum 2+ years in experience specifically in data engineer or ETL developer roles.
- 2+ years in SQL: Programming complex queries, dynamic SQL, stored procedures, user defined functions, performance tuning.
- 2+ years in ETL: Data pipelines, ETL concepts and frameworks (DST), data-oriented cloud architecture, data warehousing, scalable technologies (such as column Redshift and BQ).
- 2+ years in data-oriented cloud services: Preferably AWS or Google Cloud.
- 1+ years API integration with media or marketing services.
- 1+ years with Python and/or Golang.
- 1+ years with Linux command line, shell scripting and Git.
