About the role:
As a Senior Software Engineer - Efficiency Engineer, your main responsibility will be to elevate the Developer experience and enhance the processes around software engineering within our organization. In this position, you will be singularly focused on internal efficiency improvements, navigating both frontend and backend work and displaying a flexible skillset for practical context shifting. Your insight and expertise will guide the enhancements necessary to move our processes and operations from A to B.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Actively thinking about and proposing improvements to our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Enhancing our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Identifying and addressing process inefficiencies across different domains.
- Effectively communicating and implementing your strategies and solutions.
- Engaging with Engineers on both frontend and backend, to identify and address areas of pain and improvement with their development flow.
What we are looking for:
- Technical Skills and Proficiency in enhancing DevX:
- Demonstrated history of substantially boosting the Developer Experience (DevX) for web applications, with mobile applications being a valuable addition.
- Knowledge of core Front End development languages and frameworks (JS/TS and React preferrable), including a solid grasp of scripting and experience with wen tooling.
- Robust experience in fortifying Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines, reflecting a deep understanding of robust CI/CD principles and ensuring the smooth, efficient, and automated workflow of code from development to deployment.
- A well-rounded familiarity with common backend stacks, showcasing a comprehensive insight into streamlining and bolstering the development processes for both Front End and Back End architectures.
- Curiosity and problem-solving: Ability to ask thoughtful questions and solve challenging problems.
- Vision and articulation: Capacity to envision various solutions, articulate them, and explain the trade-offs.
- Versatility: Ability to quickly shift across problem domains and technologies.
- Collaboration: Enjoy working with others and sharing knowledge for optimal results.
- Feedback: Eagerness to give and receive feedback in an open team atmosphere.
Additional qualifications that will be beneficial:
- Practical experience with functional languages such as Clojure, Scheme, Common LISP, or Haskell is beneficial but not required.
- Experience using RDBMS such as Postgres.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python.
- Experience with proof assistants.

NYC Salary information:
We estimate that the base salary for this NYC-based role will be $170,000 - $190,000, plus equity, inclusion in Droit's discretionary bonus program, and benefits. Individual salaries are determined by factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education.
