Summary 

We are seeking an Lead Engineer to lead our Test Automation Team. 

The Test Automation Team at MasterControl oversees creating automation tools and frameworks that are used by multiple departments to build and execute automated tests, ensure quality gates in CI/CD pipelines, and provide visibility to the leadership about the quality of the product. Our primary role is building testing tools, not writing tests. Success is measured by the value those tools provide in improving overall quality at MasterControl. 
 
To be successful in the role, you should have versatile experience building Test Automation frameworks and tools from the ground up and promoting Test Automation practices. You would set up the strategy and control tactical execution for a skilled highly technical team and will have a chance to make decisions that impact large-scale engineering organization. You have strong written and communication skills, have built automation to scale, and work well cross functionally with Product, Product Management and Engineering. 
 

Responsibilities 

• Lead Engineering team that works on implementing and promoting Test Automation tools and frameworks  

• Drive multiple significant Test Automation improvements through the technology organization  

• Collaborate and engage with technology teams to improve the development experience 

• Coordinate integration of Automated Quality gates into the deployment pipelines 

• Provide support for multiple engineering teams troubleshooting issues related to Test Automation Frameworks  

Requirements 

• 2+ years building and leading automation teams 

• 5+ years hands-on Test Automation experience  

• 4+ years hands-on programming experience (Java, Typescript, Python, or similar)  

• Hands-on experience building Test Automation platforms for backend (Junit or similar)  

• Hands-on experience building Test Automation platforms for frontend (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) 

• Hands-on experience building Performance Test Automation platforms (Gatling, Artillery, or similar) 

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub actions or similar)  

• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS (Amazon Web Services) or similar cloud providers 
• Strong leadership and project management skills

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $250,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
