Description
Responsibilities:
• Support and provide guidance on the use of mainframe systems used for testing, schedule and execute batch jobs, generate test results, reports and deliver to testing team.
• Build plan to integrate software changes to maintain the highest level of availability coordinating with Operations and the Change Management groups.
• Implement assigned system software to include new releases, corrective fixes, maintenance and customization.
• Support test environment data center upgrades, regular maintenance tasks like database backups, CICS regions, back up of mainframe VSAM and other file systems used for testing.
• Monitor the environment to ensure resource utilization is within capacity guidelines.
• Analyze the environment to determine customization and or corrective change to maintain the highest availability and throughput.
• Participate in problem solving exercises assisting Technical Services group in identifying root cause, corrective action, or future direction to eliminate potential outages.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercises as required.
• Document new system components, or modifications to existing components. Perform Mainframe code coverage.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time and priorities effectively.
• Use standardized testing methods, tools and procedures to ensure testing is efficient, effective and comprehensive.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and management team.
Requirements
Required Skills:
• Experience with JCL, SORT, EZTRIEVE (OR EQUEVILANT), VSAM, CICS, REXX, CLIST
• Experience with CA SYSVIEW and BMC CMF or similar tool to perform application monitoring functions
• Experience with SDSF or similar tool
• Experience with configuration management using CA Endevor or similar tool
• Experience with SDLC and Agile processes
• Experience with installation of code base on mainframe using runbook and other documents
Desired Skills:
• Experience with CMS projects
• Experience with CMS TLC processes
• Experience with Fee for Service (FFS) applications
• Experience with job scheduling using Tivoli/TWS or or similar tool
• Experience with Fault Analyzer or similar tool
Education/Experience Level:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field (preferred)
