Senior Platform Engineer

The HiveMQ Cloud Organization builds and operates our managed service offering. 

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help bridge and enable platform services to connect our Cloud Applications and our Cloud Operations and SRE worlds.

You will…

• Work closely with Cloud product teams to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
• Run our AWS, GCP, and Azure global infrastructure and services with Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD and other industry-standard tools.
• Employ modernized software delivery methods such as infrastructure as code, distributed containerized service deployments to automate the delivery and deployment of customer-facing products and internal systems like observability and monitoring
• Build central services and platform systems that benefit multiple teams or stakeholders. 
• Design, develop, and maintain the platform's tools and infrastructure, including project management, data  analysis, automation, and software development tools. 
• Provide training and support to product teams to help them effectively use the platform's tools and  infrastructure. 
• Measure and report on platform performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations  on how to optimize performance. 
• Be on call on a rotational basis.

• Contribute to the overall platform and engineering vision of HiveMQ.

You have…

• Experience operating at scale Cloud (SaaS, IaaS or PaaS) products and services in a Cloud environment with high degrees of automation.
• Proven experience in building and operating applications at production-quality in the cloud with Cloud native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD and other IaC tools.
• Experience in provisioning and orchestrating infrastructure and services.
• Experience operating with at least one of the major 3 Cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience with metrics and monitoring solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Mimir or similar (like ElasticSearch, Kibana).
• High standards on building platform and infrastructure setups with automation, modular reusable infrastructure as code, GitOps, Test- and CI/CD-driven.
• The ability to solve problems independently and are driven towards execution.
• A highly pragmatic approach paired with a high sense of ownership and the ability to work as a team.
• A good understanding of how agile software engineering using Kanban works.
• Excellent English communication skills and able to work in a collaborative team environment.
