About your role:
We seek an exceptional engineer with expertise in building mobile applications that will enable millions of donors to do more good. As a senior member of the team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Android app development. You will lead critical projects and features through all elements of the product development life cycle and help solve complex engineering problems. Your team:
Our cross-functional Giving and Android team is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our donors. With over 1.3 million donors and a 5-star app rating, we champion their needs and build award-winning UI/UX. Together, we make giving a beautiful experience, connecting people with the causes about which they care.
You will get to:
- Lead end-to-end development of features and projects from ideation to production releaseÂ
- Lead systems architecture of the features for which you are responsibleÂ
- Help own the underlying Givelify Android architecture Â
- Mentor Jr. engineers and interns and help them in their journey to be great engineersÂ
To be successful in this role, you will also:
- Improve the performance, stability, and overall quality of user experience on mobile devicesÂ
- Partner with UX and design team and bring beautiful giving experiences to life
- Partner with other software engineers, devops engineers, and test automation engineers in a very agile cross-functional team
Your experience:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent work experience Â
- 5+ years of software development experience working on mobile applications or IOT systemsÂ
- An ability to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of software development fundamentalsÂ
- Experience with unit testing and continuous integration platformsÂ
- Understanding of server-side software and experience building scalable, distributed systemsÂ
