This hybrid role will report to a Vehicle Engineering Leader.

In this role you'll:

• Interface with and influence partner OEMs to integrate Waymo provisions into their base vehicle 
• Component CAD design development in Catia, full production ready 3D and 2D 
• Work internally with Waymo teams to package Waymo architecture into vehicles, ensuring the sensors can see the world around us and meet their functional requirements. 
• Prototype and build test hardware to prove designs prior to production tool launch
• Help identify, downselect and nominate component/system suppliers that can partner with Waymo for mutual success 
• Attend external and internal build events as part of the development lifecycle, capturing issues and proposing solutions 
• Create and manage project timelines inline with the overall program schedule 

At a minimum we’d like you to have:

• Proven experience with major automotive developments, including product launches and ramp 
• Catia CAD (V5/V6) 10,000hrs, full 3D and 2D for production ready designs
• History developing large, A-Class cosmetic automotive plastics. Painted and/or mold-in-color
• Detailed knowledge of the injection molding process, standard tooling methodologies, molded part defects and methods of overcoming these 
• Able to host or champion DFMEA, DVP workshops and other similar Engineering strategies
•  Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience

It’s preferred if you have:

• Tool design and/or ability to read moldflow
• Experience developing vehicles structures e.g. front end module, cross car or IP beam, center console etc.
