Debug Architect

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented debug architect to join the dynamic Tenstorrent Platform Architecture team. As a debug architect, you will be responsible for defining and proving a top-down, scalable means of debugging our family of CPU and AI products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products provide the mechanisms for internal users to prove the quality and performance of our silicon, and for external users to debug and optimize their applications. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in hardware and software debug and a passion for creating the best products in the industry for customers. 

This role is remote, based out of the United States.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop a scalable debug approach for use across a wide range of product lines. 
• Define hardware debug architecture and participate in design and verification tasks
• Prove debug and trace features during silicon development. 
• Help bring up post-silicon debug infrastructure and assist in silicon bringup. 

Experience & Qualifications: 

•  BS/MS/PhD in EE/ECE/CE/CS 
•  Demonstrated experience in CPU, SOC, or ASIC hardware debug implementation and tools. 
•  Hands-on experience with RISC-V, x86, or ARM hardware debug, profiling, and trace.
•  Hands-on experience with silicon bringup of CPU or SOC products. 
•  Strong understanding of processor architecture and micro-architecture. 
•  Strong understanding of relevant industry standards including iJTAG. 
•  Good understanding of firmware and device drivers. 
•  Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDL) such as Verilog or VHDL.
•  Proficiency in programming languages and tools including Python and Git. 
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•  Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
