This intern role is within CG's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) function. The intern will (i)collaborate with business stakeholders, understand operational processes, and elicit, define, and analyze for carbon emission reduction: (ii) assist with designing, developing, implementing, support projects and initiatives that reduce our green house gas emissions that results in a reduction in our global carbon footprint forging a positive impact towards climate change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Work with business stakeholders to operational processes and sources of carbon emissions and waste reduction opportunities.• Learn and collaborate with functional and operational teams across multiple manufacturing plants across the globe to define and design proposed solutions that meet our carbon emission reduction goals and support industry best practices.• Develop functional solutions that will result in short-term results.• Identify opportunities to leverage applications to improve business processes and support business re-engineering efforts. Research and represent industry best practices.• Generate a decarbonization strategy that incorporates science-based targets, renewable energy options, and meaningful carbon emission reporting and analytics.• Complete Climate risk assessments and mitigation strategies and leading targeted projects focusing on environmental sustainability.
Minimum Qualifications:• A minimum of Junior standing toward a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:• Environmental engineering or sustainability background preferred• Course work in energy efficiency or climate change a plus• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads• Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Excel
