This job can be located in our Philadelphia or Jersey City office.
Brown Brothers Harriman has an exciting opportunity for a Mainframe Programmer with knowledge of the SWIFT Network Stack. This person would be part of our Data Movement group. The individual in this role will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and troubleshooting of SWIFT Message Processing. The ideal candidate should possess a high degree of organization, effective communication, the ability to work individually as well as with Systems Developers and Business Analysts and Testers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multiple teams, such as client service and support teams, database administrators, network administrators, storage technicians, and others to help the Data Movement Technology team deliver the highest quality service for SWIFT messaging.
- Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and usage of the technology to achieve the objectives and goals of customers.
- Administer the IBMs Financial Transaction Manager (FTM); working with our Global Technical Operations team to operate and maintain the platform as required.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade IBMs FTM.
- Monitor system usage.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Being available 24x7 to assist in problem resolution and high systems availability
- Participate in SWIFT CSP program.
- Support the platform by being an active, engaged, responsive part of rotational off-hours support.
- Actively participate in periodic BCP exercises; maintains BCP readiness of systems
Key Qualifications:
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience with Mainframe applications.
- 2+ Years of experience with IBMs Financial Manager.
- Cobol programming, JCL, DB2, CICS, MVS, Change Man, FTM, IBM Product Installs.
- Participate in code walk-throughs and create all technical supporting documentation. Provide feedback in accordance with team standards and guidelines.
- Knowledge of enterprise communications technologies such as MQ, FTP/SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, FTP, SPUFI.
- Experience in performance tuning.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and writing.
- Work well in a fast and high-pressure environment.
- Be able to articulate issues and propose viable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
- SWIFT messaging
- Professional IT Industry certifications

Salary Range
120,000 - 150,000 USD (for Jersey City)
BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
