New Jersey Bureau Chief
Job Description
What You'll Do:
- Lead our reporting on the governor, Legislature, state budget, lobbying and organized labor.
- Assist the New Jersey editor in coordinating additional coverage across the bureau.
- Regularly deliver innovative, thought-provoking enterprise stories and scoops that can lead the POLITICO homepage.
- Collaborate on a daily newsletter.
What You'll Need:
- Extensive reporting experience in New Jersey's political and policy arenas, or a strong track record of doing similar work in other states.
- A proven ability to build a network of well-placed and trustworthy sources.
- Smart, innovative ideas and a drive to be first on every big story.
- Polished writing skills and a clear voice, with the ability to deliver stories written for professional subscribers, an informed audience of political insiders and POLITICO's national readership.
- Ability to juggle tight deadlines and a demanding schedule.
- A rigorous commitment to fair-minded, nonpartisan journalism.
