Senior Database Administrator (Hybrid - Flexible Options)
Job Description
Broadridge is hiring a Senior Database Administrator to participate in the design, build, run, and modernization of our databases. You will be a part of the senior technical team to ensure that our databases are secure, highly available, and recoverable. You will effectively administer the databases to ensure that we are satisfying our customer requirements. You will troubleshoot and consult with other support teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements to avoid reoccurrences. You will perform all database administration tasks and should be well versed with database features, utilities, and recovery procedures. You must collaborate with application teams to tune SQL to ensure minimal resource consumption and optimal throughput. You would participate in continuous process improvement throughout the SDLC by creating scripts and procedures to increase the speed of delivery. You continuously review capacity and predictive reports to efficiently allocate system resources. Possess knowledge of AWS/Cloud technologies to participate in the cloud journey. You will participate in on-call duties and are expected to provide senior-level expertise in resolving database issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years as a MS SQL Server database administrator leveraging:
• T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, database design, configurations and builds, logical and physical data modeling, stored procedures, monitoring, upgrade, patching, security, backup/recovery, and data integrity skills.
• SQL internals, Clustering, Always-On, Partitioning and In-Memory.
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server Database management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with advanced Windows OS commands and automation tools and demonstrated power shell and batch scripting skills.
• Perform all database operational and maintenance activities.
• Replicate existing database environments for various testing activities.
• Generate and analyze capacity and predictive reports.
• Knowledgeable of AWS/Cloud Technologies and work within our private/public cloud environments.
• Ensure that database security and compliance standards are adhered to.
• Participate in on-call duties and provide senior level expertise in troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
• Communicate with vendors and other support teams to articulate issues and collaborate throughout the problem troubleshooting process.
• Assess the impact of system failures and proactively take corrective measures to ensure acceptable system performance, availability, and recovery. They determine root cause to database problems and provide solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Participate in automating database tasks for continuous service improvement.
Salary range is $130K to $135K Annually
Bonus Eligible
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
