Broadridge is hiring an Oracle Database Engineer to join the Database Engineering team. As data is the lifeline of our organization, we will be relying on the database engineer's technical expertise to design and deploy database solutions that are performant, secure, highly available, and recoverable. Database Engineers are subject matter experts (SMEs) for the database technologies they support. They possess a comprehensive knowledge of various database design techniques. They provide database solutions for basic to complex projects. They collaborate with architecture and application teams to deliver and implement database management system database / schema and physical designs. Database Engineers set standards for the database technologies supported by the group. They certify the version and release levels that are appropriate for Broadridge applications and comply with support and security. They also participate in analyzing new database features, functionality, and products to make recommendations that support overall business objectives. They strive to automate manual tasks and increase the speed of delivery. They design and build automated solutions to support DevOps and continuous service improvement efforts. They work with project, service delivery, and application teams in troubleshooting complex technical issues or business situations that involve critical database processes and hinder the achievement of service level requirements. They are proficient in AWS/Cloud technologies to be fully immersed in the cloud journey. Database engineers make themselves available to provide mentorship and technical guidance to Senior Database Administrators.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle Database Administration, PL/SQL, Backup / Recovery / High-Availability Solution Experience and Performance Tuning
• Strong Database, application, SQL performance tuning skills with knowledge of Oracle internals.
• 5+ years experience with Unix/Linux
• 5+ years of Experience with Shell Script and Perl Scripting
• Comprehensive knowledge of various database design techniques.
• Set standards for the database technologies supported by the team; certifying the version and release levels that are appropriate for Broadridge applications comply with support and security.
• Participate in analyzing new database features, functionality, or products and make recommendations that support overall business objectives.
• Design and build automated solutions to support Dev/Ops and continuous service improvement efforts.
• Level 3 support assisting with project, service delivery, and application teams to resolve complex technical issues or business situations that involve critical database processes and hinder the achievement of service level requirements.
• Proficiency in AWS/Cloud technologies
• Recommends best practices for coding and schema design.
• Recommends database HA and DR strategies.
• Develops templates for designing IT standards and procedures for technical business plans.
• Manage processes included in IT standards and procedures delivery and implementation ensuring the organization is under effective management.
• Creates trouble reports for all issues found and reviews solutions for completeness and correctness.
