Senior Security Strategist, North America
Fastly’s Technology Specialist Group (TSG) is responsible for providing technical insights, architectural recommendations and knowledge through all prospecting and presales stages of the sales process. Partnering with Account Executive/Managers, Sales Engineering and Channel Specialists, TSG represents the Fastly technical products lines externally, influencing new business, logos, and helping to grow Fastly’s Security Business across the globe.
Fastly is looking for a Web Security subject matter expert to join Fastly’s Technology Specialist Group (TSG) leading efforts to drive Fastly Sales targets by effectively communicating Fastly’s Security Services to our largest, most complex customers and use cases across North America
As a Senior Security Specialist you will be key in efforts to level up and enable our local sales and sales engineering teams on Fastly security portfolio, competitive displacement, demo’s and the wider threat landscape. Lastly, you will be key in local Security Marketing efforts and thought leadership.
What You'll Do
- Sales
- Assist local teams in winning net new security business by becoming a trusted customer advisor
- Help to build best practices with regards to proof of concepts (PoC), product demonstrations and other customer facing activities
- Product
- Establish and maintain a feedback loop to Fastly’s Security Product team(s), helping ensure that product features are prioritized and that the voice of the customer is heard
- Ensure that the local teams are aware of new Security features and their associated use case and that proof of value exercises are implemented using best practices
- Improve competitive analysis and displacement techniques for competing security solutions in the region
- Enablement
- Ensure Sales and Sales Engineering are kept up to date on Fastly Security offerings through running internal demonstrations and presentations
- Assist teams stay up to date on competitive events and services
- Marketing
- Work with Fastly Marketing ensuring successful customer security events and product announcements
- Host roundtable discussions with customers and 3rd parties
- Build compelling use cases, blogs and speaking engagements, building Fastly’s reputation as a trusted security vendor
What We're Looking For
- Seasoned security expert (8+ years) with strong experience in three or more of the following technologies and processes.
- Content Delivery and Edge Platforms
- Web Application and API Firewalls (WAAP/WAF)
- DDoS Mitigation
- Bot Management
- Cloud Architectures, DevOps and CI/CD
- Excellent communication and speaking skills
- Ability to act with little to no supervision
We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Cloud Computing
Work Hours:
- This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
We are willing to consider remote candidates in US (West) or US (Central).
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary:
The estimated range for On-Target Earnings for this role is $229,510 to $300,240. On-Target Earnings consists of a combination of annual base pay and sales compensation variable target. The standard pay split for this role (i.e. base pay vs. variable target %) is 75/25.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role is eligible to participate in Fastly’s global sales compensation plan and may participate in Fastly’s equity program.
