Software Robotics Intern

This internship will begin in Spring 2023, in our Waltham, MA office.

The Team:

The Software Robotics Intern is part of the Spot Software team. Our team and organization has created a new and growing market for legged robots in industrial applications by shipping the Spot product. In this role you will be paired with a senior developer who will mentor you as you collaborate with the rest of the team to improve our product.

Your main role will be software development on a team of robotics engineers devoted to enhancing the perception, autonomous navigation, or mobile manipulation capabilities of Spot. The ideal candidate has hands-on laboratory experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Perception and computer vision for robotics applications
• Simultaneous localization and mapping
• Motion planning
• Controls and trajectory optimization for robotic manipulators

Day to day activities:

• Write code
• Run experiments with Spot
• Analyze and debug data from the Spot system
• Communicate designs and progress with the larger team

Desired skills:

• Current student enrolled in an undergraduate, masters, or doctoral program in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Hands-on experience developing robotics software in a laboratory or industry setting
• Proficiency with C++ and Python
