Staff Accountant

Job Summary: 

We are looking for 2 ambitious, motivated Staff Accountants to join our team. This role reports directly to an Accounting Manager and will perform daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks. We are seeking candidates passionate about making an immediate impact in our organization, hard-working, takes ownership, and wants a platform from which to grow.

What You’ll Do: 

Accountant 1 (Inventory & Revenue)

• Maintain & reconcile various inventory & COGS accounts as part of our month end close process
• Prepare inventory listings, roll forward schedules, and related entries
• Work cross-functionally with supply chain, plant ops, and other stakeholders on month-end inventory reporting
• Support senior accountant on royalties and other revenue tasks
• Other ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g. audit schedules)

Accountant 2 (Fixed assets & expenses)

• Prepare all fixed asset journal entries, including depreciation 
• Compile inventory supporting files including monthly rollforward schedules
• Prepare prepaid expense analysis and journal entries
• Prepare advanced payment analysis and journal entries
• Support expense analyst and AP team on monthly corporate card reconciliation process
• Other ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g. audit schedules)

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

• This position is open to candidates who are not in the Los Angeles area, but who must be willing to work regular PST business hours 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent field.
• Proficient understanding of accounting theory (e.g. GAAP) especially in regards to accrual accounting
• 2+ years of relevant experience – Public accounting and/or CPA candidates a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Strong ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

Preferred: 

• Experience with Netsuite preferred but not required
• Experience with Shopify is a plus
• Previous experience with a large manufacturing company

Compensation:

• $75,000 - $85,000 per year base salary
• An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
• Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
