Join UPMC in Central PA Hillman Cancer Center’s medical oncology practice in Mechanicsburg
Pennsylvania for an exciting opportunity to help with all aspects of patient care including disease
prevention and treatment, establishment and maintenance of strong provider-patient relationships,
evidence-based patient teaching and coaching, establishment and maintenance of strong collaborative
relationships within the healthcare team, negotiation of healthcare delivery systems, monitoring,
and ensuring the quality of healthcare practice. UPMC in Central Pa offers a variety of practice
sizes and locations while at the same time maintaining a reliable practice infrastructure. These
setting choices include both urban and rural options available throughout our 10-county service
area.About the Position:Provide both inpatient and outpatient care to Medical Oncology patients
within the guidelines of the collaborative agreement with the Medical Director, Women’s Cancer
CenterWork closely Medical Oncology physicians and staff.Care and practice will be based on
assessment, Planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and established standards of
practice.Required to obtain AOCNP within 3 years of hireRequired to complete UPMC Anticancer therapy
course and exam within 1 year of hireDesired Candidate:Board certification as a Nurse
PractitionerCurrent ACLS certificationGraduate from accredited NP program with a Master’s of Science
in NursingCurrent Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered NurseEffective verbal and written
communication skills to communicate with diverse populations, including physicians, employees,
patients, and familiesLeadership skills to direct others toward the successful treatment of
patientsAnalytical skills to evaluate patient status and healthcare procedures/techniques and to
monitor quality of careFiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenueWillingness to learn
