Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center located on Patrick SFB, FL. This position includes the opportunity to enroll in Health and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement, Annual and Sick Leave. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be a minimum of 35 hours per week. Must be able to life objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Must be able to successfully complete a physical examination and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must possess a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification or secure one within 30 days of employment Qualifications Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Nov. 30, 2024, Dec. 9, 2024, and closing on Dec. 19, 2024. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that provided a working familiarity with the procedures followed in sports activities and programs. A 4-year degree in a sports/recreation or related field, or equivalent specialized work experience is desired. Must possess American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/AED/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen/Biohazard Spill certifications or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must have knowledge of nationally-recognized certifying body of rules and regulations. Competent experience with Microsoft Office software is desired. Work requires frequent physical exertion and incumbent must be able to frequently walk, bend, stoop and lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam. Must be able read, write and speak English fluently and communicate effectively with patrons and coworkers. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries. Must be available to work nights, weekends and Holidays as required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
