Your role

As a Senior Backend Engineer you develop software in Go that extracts financial data from APIs and from multiple online sources. You subsequently transform such data into structured insight stored and maintained in our database and served to customers through our web app and API. Your role is tightly connected to the work of our Data & Insight team consisting of researchers with financial and local domain knowledge that create curated company- and industry analyses on the basis of your code. In addition to software development, you work on further optimising our cloud environment and prepare it for scale.

We are a lean tech team with experienced professionals who want to build solutions that are long-lasting and inspire our customers. And because we are substantially scaling there's still plenty of room to have a big impact. In fact, as a founding member of our newly formed 'data' team you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in our expansion.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is excited to learn about the booming private equity sector and keen to drive its digitisation. You love working in a small team without corporate structures and a collegiate working environment.

On top of that, we are looking for the following skills:

• Go skills - We require at least 2 years of (fulltime) Go programming, or at least 5 years of Java / C# programming combined with the desire to transition to Go. Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Google Cloud is also a plus
• Ambitious - You are excited to push the boundaries of digitising traditional investment analysis
• Languages - As a European company we work with many local documents (esp. financial statements). It’s a really big plus if you have a (at least passive) understanding of especially German or French and alternatively another European language
