Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Office of the Center Director (OCD). As a HEALTH INSURANCE SPECIALIST, GS-0107-15, you will serves as a Technical Advisor and senior analyst in developing policy and supporting program operations and implementation focusing on emerging or precedent-setting child and youth priorities and crosscuts multiple agencies. In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Leading Medicaid & Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) children and youth policy development, implementation, evaluation, and related technical advisory at the National level (i.e. policies designed to meet the healthcare needs of children with mental or behavioral health conditions, medical complexities, or disabilities; health coverage requirements for children and youth with Medicaid and CHIP; and policies that promote the intersection of Medicaid and education, child welfare, Title V, and other child-serving agencies and programs.); AND Working with a State Medicaid Agency to advance policies promoting coverage and care for children; AND Working within a healthcare system to serve children, especially those enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Supervisory positions must report a minimum 2 times per week and non-Supervisory positions must report a minimum of 2 times per pay period.
