Job Description

Summary This position is located at USAG Benelux - MWR, Bene Brew, Chievres AB, Belgium. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. The first cut off date is 6 Nov 2025 and a referral list with qualified applicants will be forwarded to management for consideration. Applicants will be referred to selecting officials as additional vacancies occur. Duties Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages. Prepares coffee and hot water for tea, fills beverage dispensers with juices and soft drinks. Sets tables, seats guests, records guests' selections and turns in orders to the kitchen. Serves food and nonalcoholic beverages. Presents bill and receives payment. Cleans tables and immediate area. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving. Makes a variety of fruit and vegetable salads. Portions out food, cleans and prepares meats and seafood for cooking. Checks food during cooking to prevent overcooking. Prepares sandwiches and box lunches. Washes dishes, pots and pans. Empties trash and cleans and sanitizes containers. Unloads trucks and places contents in proper storage and use areas, brings supplies to work areas. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. Medical examination required. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually. Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages (18 years). Certificate of Medical Examination is required. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching. Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat. Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas. Must be willing able to work rotating shift (0600 - 1400 or 0900 - 1500), work weekends and occasionally in evenings for events. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Experience or training that indicates knowledge skills and ability to perform the duties of this position. 2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills. 3. Able to bend, stoop, walk, and reach frequently. 4. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. Skill and Knowledge: 1. Able to work alone. 2. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. 3. Know simple food handling techniques. 4. Able to work safely. 5. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. 6. Able to use simple arithmetic. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Foreign overseas allowances, post allowance, and differentials will not be paid.
