Assistant Director of Nursing Position Summary

Responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing(DON) in the supervision and provision of resident care; coordinating the Long Term Care Quality Assessment and Assurance Program; acting for the DON in her absence.  Performs clinical and administrative functions as delegated by the Director of Nursing and Nursing Home Administrator.  

Assistant Director of Nursing Position Requirements

Education

• Associate's Degree Required.

Required License and/or Certification

• Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or compact state.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience is required.
• Long Term Care experience is preferred.

Mental Demands

• Requires good interpersonal, organizational, record keeping, observation and counseling skills.
• High degree of initiative, planning, energy, and flexibility essential to meet diverse job demands.

Responsibility for Assets

• Damage or loss is probable unless prevented by sustained, high degree of care, attention and controls.  Would not exceed $3000.  Action or decisions on situations listed in third degree are approved or reviewed as a preliminary to top management approval or final action.

Contact with Others

• Daily contact with multidisciplinary staff, residents and families, and the general public. 

Assistant Director of Nursing Work Schedule

• Primarily day shift, may be required to work evenings and weekends as need.
• Rotating call schedule.

Assistant Director of Nursing Benefits 

• At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
