Summary
This position is located at Baumholder Aquatics Center, Baumholder, Germany
Incentives and Bonuses
Incentives will not be paid.
This position will have an initial cut-off of 5 December 2025. Applications prior to that date will be given first consideration. Additional referral lists may be issued as vacancies are needed.
Duties
Assist with the operation of the pool, oversees the work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies.
Assists with scheduling of employees. Assists with the operation of the pool, its filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests.
Under direction of the pool supervisor, employ safety rules for the protection of the guest. Responsible for life guarding guest in attendance at the assigned aquatic facility.
Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020
Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This includes childcare checks.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Must have current health assessment. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity
Lifeguard must have good vision (based upon an acceptable standard of 20/40 vision or better, either corrected (with glasses or contacts) or uncorrected).
In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
Required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR driver's license.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Must possess (or be in the process of possessing) the following certificates:
1. American Red Cross "Lifeguard" certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification).
2. American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification).
When facilities use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following is required:
1. American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification.
2. American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Oxygen Administration certification.

Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Foreign overseas allowances, post allowance, and differentials will not be paid with the exception of post allowance. Post allowance will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
