Summary

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Per E.O. 14043, selectee(s) must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by 11/22/2021 or date of employment (which ever comes later) except in limited circumstances where an exemption is approved due to a disability or sincerely held religious beliefs.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driverβs license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

This announcement uses the Certain Personnel/Modified of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
A forty hour work week is typical of this position.
This position is recruited at the full performance level.
The incumbent may be required to work overtime.
Physical Demands:
Occasional physical activity is required including walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and ladders during field surveys or inspection of site equipment.
Work Environment:
Most work is performed in an office environment although visits to the various facilities and utilities plants and distribution systems throughout the activity occurs a considerable amount of time. Incumbent is exposed to such things as noise and excessive heat with the boiler facilities and other areas. Personal Protective gear must be worn during such visits, including a hard hat, safety shoes, coverall, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Several vacancies may be filled.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
