Geisinger Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease provider to join our expanding team at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of infectious disease.Job Duties:
- Diagnose and manage infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems, including conditions requiring the selective use of antibiotics.
- Interview patients to obtain comprehensive information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically indicated.
- Design and implement treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses; prescribe or administer medications as appropriate.
- Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Care for patients with AIDS, unexplained fevers, and those requiring preventive medicine or travel-related health expertise
- Primarily inpatient care with 1–2 clinical days per week.
- Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
Position Details:
Qualifications- Board certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency and fellowship in Infectious Disease
- Valid and unrestricted medical license
- Prior experience managing complex infectious disease cases is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
