Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Employee must acquire Contract Officer Representative (COR) certification within the first six months of employment and maintain certification.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Independently planning and coordinating facility maintenance, exhibits, furniture, or space management projects; 2) Preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules for facility construction or renovation projects; 3) Conducting facility inspections to ensure compliance with Federal, DoD, DON or industry-established building codes and standards; 4) Managing contract administration tasks to include monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with established regulations, and resolving project issues; and 5) Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to review or update facility drawings.
GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Assisting with the planning and coordination of facility maintenance, exhibits, furniture, or space management projects; 2) Supporting the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, or schedules for facility-related projects; 3) Assisting with facility inspections to document and report findings; 4) Assisting with contract administration tasks, such as reviewing contractor proposals or monitoring compliance; and 5) Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to review or update facility drawings.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11 Level
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related
or
LL.M., if related
GS-9: Level
Master's or equivalent graduate degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration
or
2 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration
or
