Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD005600 and is part of the TN 134th ARW Air National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 114 (Smoky Mountain Chapter). Duties As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-11, you will serve as the program manager for the Integrated Deployment System (IDS); Deployment Management System (DeMS), Contingency Operations/Mobility Planning and Executive System (COMPES), Logistics Module-Base Level (LOGMOD B), Computer Aided Load Manifesting (CALM), and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS). Formulate and consolidate logistical annexes for IDS guidance based on regulations, manuals, instructions, and directives issued by higher headquarters. At the direction of the supervisor or higher graded employee and in conjunction with, the Logistics Officer, identify required deployment/redeployment support with the wing staff, serving as the NCOIC of the Redeployment Assistance Team (RAT), Air Mobility Command (AMC), and Air Combat Command (ACC) for the transportation of equipment and personnel. Review resource/logistics plans, programs, and deployment activities with the senior officer to insure authorized mobility equipment is available or on order, and assures that the equipment is properly budgeted. Review OPLANS, Concept Plans (CONPLANS), Concept of Operations (CONOP), USAF Special Operation Plans, Exercise Plans, and Execution Orders for tasking from higher headquarters. Maintain and analyze the correlation of data between the Unit Type Code (UTC) Management Information System (UMIS), Designed Operational Capacity (DOC) statements, and all applicable plans for all wing and supported units for readiness reporting and tasking. Evaluate the unit's logistics posture as reported in the Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS). Perform pilot/non pilot unit responsibilities in accordance with applicable directives. Provide technical logistic plans support at staff meetings and working groups conducted by the Wing/Air Commander and staff. Provide input to Receiver/Supplier Support Agreements for the wing. Monitors status of WRM posture for the wing and provides guidance and assistance to subordinate units. Function as the Logistics Officer in his/her absence or when 24 hour operations are required. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility. Qualifications Military Grades: E-5 through E-8 Compatible Military Assignments: 2G0X1 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field; Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-10), or 36 months of experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations; experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan; experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions Education Education Requirement: None Substitution of Education to qualify for this position is not available.
