Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Polar Bowl on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. This is a Regular Full-Time position. Regular Full-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. This position requires the incumbent to be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise a funds-generating & revenue-producing Cost center in an activity. Must have responsible experience related to the supervision of food, beverage, or hospitality services. Must have experience in planning, organizing and accounting for the services provided. Such experience must have been acquired as a supervisor of a function in a similar food/beverage activity or as a supervisor of a fast/limited-service food/beverage facility. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to withstand kitchen heat. Must be able to withstand continual standing, walking, frequent stooping, pushing/pulling, bending, and exposure to freezer temps. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must obtain or be able to obtain a Food Handler's card. Must have a valid driver's license. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
