Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 106th Signal Brigade at Fort Cavazos Network Enterprise Center. GG-03 Salary $35,499-$43,590 GG-04 Salary $36,209-$45,982 Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. May be converted to a permanent appointment in the competitive service, to include the conversion out grade at the GG-05 or GG-07 and corresponding full performance grade at the GG-11. If converted to a permanent position, selectee may be required to meet additional conditions of employment. If converted to a permanent position, selectee may be provided relocation assistance subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations. Post-secondary students being converted to positions covered under Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) must be assessed prior to non-competitive conversion. Employment dates will vary depending on when summer break begins for each college, however, the earliest start date is the end of May. Actual length of employment is contingent upon budget and workload. Employment is intended to continue each subsequent year during the summer months while the student is enrolled in a degree program. MAY be non-competitively converted to a career/career-conditional appointment within 120 days of successful completion of academic program. Pay will vary by grade level and geographic location. GG-03 Minimum Qualifications: Education: To qualify at the GG-03 level, students must have completed (or will complete by December 2024) 1 academic year of post-high school study (one year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university). GG-04 Minimum Qualifications: Education: To qualify at the GG-04 level, students must have completed (or will complete by December 2024) 2 academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree (two years of full-time academic study is defined as 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Must be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average or equivalent, as eligibility criteria. Additional information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. TERM: This announcement is for a Cyber Term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a Cyber Term appointment. Term positions in CES may be extended up to a maximum of five years. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition after completion of three years of continuous service in this position. May be selected at any grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. If selected, official college or university transcripts must be submitted. However, unofficial transcripts must be submitted at the time of application. A Student Program Participant Agreement is required for students. Additional financial incentives, such as recruitment or relocation incentives, may be offered for difficult to fill positions.
