Recreation Aid (Trainee-Lifeguard) NF-01

Summary This position is located atFamily & Morale, Welfare and Recreation--Aquatics. This is a flexible position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Must be willing and able to Work weekend, weekdays, Federal holidays and night duty. A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position. Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Must have current health assessment that documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army Policy. Be able to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency. All required certifications must obtained within specified time and kept current. Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Lifeguard trainees must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking. Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. Fifteen (15) year old lifeguard trainees must comply with the restriction of the DOL Child Labors Law (Jan 17, 2006). May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
