Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) Leader (Direct Hiring Authority)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) Leader (Direct Hiring Authority) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common dutiesof leading other Materials Handler employees. I can store hazardous and non-hazardous materials; review receiving storage documents for accuracy; and operator equipment such as motor vehicles and forklifts. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works on hard surfaces and performs work which requires the employee to stand, stoop, bend and climb over items. The worker frequently lifts or other wise moves materials weighing up to 45 pounds. Light to moderate physical effort is expended in motor vehicle and forklift operation.
• WORKING CONDITIONS: Work in performed inside warehouses, in open outside areas, and on receiving and shipping docks. Workers are exposed to inclement weather conditions, dirt, dust, noise and the possibility of injury from falling stock.
