Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with the National Bureau, CIO/G-6, Ent Applications Div, Arlington, VA. Duties Provide technical expertise regarding all aspects of information management throughout the Army National Guard. Manage all aspects of information technology asset management (ITAM) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Management (C4IM) lifecycle. Ensure full integration with the Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process. Administer the full range of supervisory duties using subordinate supervisors to direct, coordinate, or oversee work for a staff of subordinate civilian and military personnel. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Drug testing is required. And periodic random drug testing. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and evaluating alternative results from design, testing, evaluation and integration of work processes, computer hardware and software, and architectural design concepts; managing the lifecycle of technology systems and services from acquisition to eventual retirement; Identifying, developing and validating organizational information technology and data management policies and practices; coordinating C4IM (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Management) requirements and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development processes; administering IT acquisition support and contract management; supervising staff of both civilian and/or military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-14 or equivalent). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. One year Supervisory probationary period may be required.
