Qualifying Experience: Specialized experience in a library, providing specific knowledge of library rules, policies, and procedures for circulation and technical services. Ability to read, write, and speak English Experience or training demonstrating the ability to perform standard computer skills General knowledge of standard library rules, policies, and procedures in circulation services Typing experience is required Work requires physical exertion, such as long periods of standing and recurring activities like bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching Ability to push loaded book trucks and lift moderately heavy items Physically able to frequently lift boxes up to 40 pounds Must be able to reach up to 72 inches with or without the assistance of a step stool Skill in applying standard customer service practices when dealing with the public You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
