3D Graphic Designer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Designs innovative Plush and hard good products that align with the brand standards of our clients.
•    Produce sketches, renderings, specifications and documentation that effectively communicate design intent. 
•    Participate in the all stages of product development to ensure that product can be 1) manufactured and 2) within cost 

JOB SKILLS AND TRAITS
•    Proficient with software: Zbrush, Maya, Keyshot, or like 3D rendering program.  InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
•    Proficient in 3D product rendering. General understanding of materials – ABS, Vinyl, Resin, Paper, Metals – and what can be done with each from a design and manufacturing perspective
•    Knowledge of materials, plastic, fabrics,  that would be used in manufacturing of toys and plush animals.
•    Ability to hand or digitally render product concepts
•    Excellent conceptual sketcher. 
•    Design and produce presentations and assets for new client pitches.
•    Strong organization, communication, time management skills required; project/personnel management experience.
•    Flexible; works well with change in a face-paced environment.
•    Ability to work closely and effectively with other members of design group and clients.
•    Requires moderate supervision; works under the direction of Manager/Director; works effectively within Creative Services.
•    Proficient with standard Mac hardware systems (scanners, color printers, electronic communication/methods of transfer).
•    Knowledge of the basic browser practices and standards.
•    Maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality.
•    Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with BDA employees, outside vendors and clients.
•    Effectively demonstrates ability to both lead and take direction.
•    Exhibits high level of customer service to ensure smooth operations and satisfied customers/clients. 

•    Can use style guides / templates to generate iterative character art.
•    Understands Licensing and Licensor approval process.
•    Creative – can also “stretch” style guides to offer a unique point of view for character development within licensor boundaries.
•    Has created their own art through graphic design (I’d like to see a portfolio to get a sense for style and organic direction)
•    Understands how and when to use AI.
•    Can integrate other artists work into designs (as we pursue more collabs)
•    Knows their way around retail packaging and use of materials (has designed retail packaging before)
•    General understanding of how designs translate to 3D product
•    Open to direction and input but also brings an opinion to the table

QUALIFICATIONS
•    BA Degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent).
•    2-5 years 3D rendering/graphic design industry experience.
•    Portfolio demonstrating creativity and skill relative to experience.
