Duties
Supervises and oversees the management and operation of a Fitness Facility.
Establishes employee work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals.
Serves as facility expert for major and minor construction projects, providing input to PW and contractors on work plans, schedules, methods, objectives and impact of work.
Publicizes sports facilities, programs and events by writing articles for local newspapers and coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material.
Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Works with fitness facility staff to recommend purchase/construction of equipment and facilities.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, and Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge and skills to perform the duties identified above.
Possesses MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management Certifications.

Applicants meeting ALL criteria will be considered the best qualified and will be referred to the selecting official first. Area of Consideration
This job is open to candidates who is within the Local / Surrounding Commuting Area. NOTE: Local / Surrounding Commuting area is defines as within 50 miles of Fort. Bragg. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

PCS Costs
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
