Summary This position is with MWR Youth Sports and Fitness at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Incumbent is entitled to a 1.69% Cost of Living Allowance. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations. A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable). Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required. May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check. Qualifications A bachelor's degree or higher which included a major course of study or at least 24 semester hours in physical education, OR All of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level: 1. Experience in the planning, supervision, administration, or delivery of a sports or physical education program which included a variety of individual and team sports. 2. Experience in providing skills development and teaching the techniques of various sports. 3. Experience coaching multiple sports or providing coaches with sports-specific training in coaching techniques and required skills/fundamentals. Recommended highly-qualifying: In addition to meeting one of the requirements above, highly qualified candidates will possess experience in the planning, evaluation, or delivery of a sports program or curriculum specifically for children or youth; or at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i.e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.) Applicants that possess the highly qualifying criteria may be sent first for consideration. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
