Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Kidney Transplant Medical
Director to collaboratively lead our transplant program and continue to advance our vision of
excellence in patient care.
The Kidney Transplant Medical Director will provide strategic leadership
and clinical expertise for the Kidney Transplant Program at Baystate Health. This role is
responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transplant program, including patient care, staff
management, and program development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nephrology
and transplant medicine, with a proven track record in clinical excellence and program
leadership.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
·      Clinical Leadership: Provide medical oversight of the
transplant program on behalf of the Hospital and ensure immediate availability of services when an
organ is offered for transplantation.

·      Program Oversight: Represent Baystate in outreach
and program development to increase the number of transplant candidates and become the region’s
preferred referral destination for renal transplant.

·      Team Management: Lead, mentor, and
collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
·      Strategic
Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the transplant program, including
quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and service expansion.
Â
·      Research and
Education: Engage in clinical research related to kidney transplantation and contribute to the
training of Nephrology fellows in Transplant Nephrology, in association with the fellowship program
leadership. Faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate.

·      Patient Care:
Provide clinical care to renal transplant patients throughout the continuum of care, in the
outpatient and inpatient settings.Â

Qualifications:
Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
from an accredited institution.
Board Certification: Board-certified in Nephrology and Internal
Medicine
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in kidney transplantation. Transplant
Nephrology Fellowship required. Leadership experience preferred.
Skills: Strong leadership,
communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and
drive programmatic growth.
