Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
You will perform engine company inspections, and building pre-plans, looking for infractions and the locations of local alarm and sprinkler systems, power, water, and gas shutoffs, noting all hazardous storage or conditions inside and outside.
You will carry out evacuation drills, reset sprinkler and local alarm systems.
You will perform station, grounds, apparatus, and equipment maintenance.
You will respond to structure fires, serving as a hydrant man, hose-man, makes forcible entry, ventilates structures, makes rescue, and performs salvage and overhaul operations, and other duties as required.
You will participate in public education activities.
You will respond to downed aircraft or aircraft emergencies, operates hand lines, turrets to control and protect aircrews and rescue men entering the aircraft.
You will respond to medical emergencies and provide for the rescue and on scene stabilization for victims of fire, sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth and other events requiring medical personnel.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid State driverβs license.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
This position requires rotating shift work.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Required to work a 72-hour workweek and is subject to recall during off duty hours.
This is a bargaining unit position.
Completion of a California State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AED) or re-certification, and Firefighter I and 2 certifications are required.
The incumbent must be certified at the appropriate firefighting certification levels as outline in the DODI 6055.6M, Department of Defense (DOD) Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program.
HAZMAT Awareness and HAZMAT Operations IAW DODI 1400.25 Vol 336.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Inspecting facilities and structures for fire hazards and fire protection deficiencies, interpreting code regulations and directives, conducting troubleshooting as required for facilities, AND providing training on fire safety practices and procedures.

Additional Conditions of Employment Continued:
At the time of appointment, the incumbent must possess a valid State Driver's License, certification with the Department of Defense Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (DOD/EVOC), California State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AED), Firefighter I, and obtain Inland County Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) status within 60 days of hire.
The incumbent must be certified at the appropriate firefighter certification levels as outlined in the DODI 6055.6.M, Department of Defense (DOD) Fire Emergency Services Certification Program.
Must participate in mandatory physical fitness program. Considerable stress is involved with emergency situations.
An annual physical is required, to determine if physical ability is adequate for performance of duties.
Required working 72-hour workweek and being subject to recall during off duty hours.
The applicant must complete a NACI on SF85 or SF85P. Failure to obtain a favorable Suitability Determination is grounds for removal. Misuse of Government IT systems is cause for disciplinary action, including removal.
