Summary This position is located at: Fort Campbell, KY, Cole Park Community Activity Center. This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours per week) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Works under general supervision. Supervisor is available to provide information or decisions regarding problems that may arise during work. Overall work operations are reviewed for status and progress, quality, and guest satisfaction. Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash. May make beds and changes linen. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt. Moves heavy furniture. Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Required standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items or carts weighing up to 20 to 40 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds. Works is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors, vibration from use of heavy equipment, and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions. Must meet physical requirements of the position. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. Must be able to work during the hours of operations to include weekends, nights, holidays, and special events held throughout the year. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess at least (6) months of custodial work experience in a high - traffic facility (such as schools, hospitals, gyms, office buildings, or similar environments with significant daily use). Possess work experience performing simple upkeep and routine maintenance on cleaning equipment **Applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
