Job Description
Summary
About the Position: This position is located in an inpatient clinic, outpatient clinic, or other setting associated with the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
Evaluate patients to obtain information related to their functional limitations and activity restrictions.
Develop complex goal-oriented, evidence-based treatment plans for adult outpatients with a variety of impairments.
Collaborate with and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to optimize successful return to work.
Assist with developing and overseeing standard operating procedures for the occupational therapy clinic.
Apply the use of therapeutic modalities and new integrative techniques and technologies for the purpose of evaluation and ongoing treatment.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
Employee must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a Required criminal history (Child Care), Child Care Background Check as a condition of employment.
A pre-placement medical examination is required.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 25 pounds is required.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and maintain current licensing as a Occupational Therapist to maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
A Drug Test maybe required for this position.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the Occupational Therapist requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Certification: This position requires a job-related license or certification. You MUST submit a copy of your license or certification with your application package or you will be rated ineligible. See: Transcripts and Licenses.
Basic Requirements
Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
AND
Certification: Applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). (Note: You must attach a copy of your current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or certification.)
Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0631 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and providing oversight for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
