Possession of an IAT Level II certification is required and knowledge of both Cisco and Juniper devices are highly desirable. Qualifications This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of organizational policies, mission, resources, operations, capabilities, and requirements; knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer a computer systems program; knowledge of a full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design, principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements; and knowledge of security and safety procedures and ability to apply existing guidance. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements. 2. Knowledge of the network architecture, interrelationships, operating modes, configuration, topology, and protocols typically found at base level. 3. Knowledge of network operating and maintenance concepts and methods to troubleshoot network problems. 4. Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques, and requirements appropriate to managing base level network systems. 5. Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of network problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective. 6. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meetfuture requirements. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
