Job Title: 5th Grade General Studies Teacher – Afternoon Position Location: Chicago, IL 60659 Job Type: Part-time Expected Hours:8 hours per week Pay:$50.00 - $90.00 per hour Overview: Our school is seeking a dedicated 5th Grade General Studies Teacher for an afternoon position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and able to create an engaging, supportive classroom environment. This role involves teaching core subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Social Studies to 5th-grade students in a structured and interactive way. Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM (includes three 40-minute teaching periods and recess supervision). Key Responsibilities: 1. Curriculum Delivery: • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. • Use diverse teaching methods to meet various learning styles and abilities. • Incorporate group work and hands-on activities to enhance the learning experience. 2. Assessment and Feedback: • Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments. • Offer constructive feedback to foster academic growth. • Keep accurate records of attendance, assignments, and assessments. 3. Classroom Management: • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. • Set clear behavioral expectations to promote respect and cooperation. • Address classroom management issues promptly and effectively. 4. Collaboration and Communication: • Collaborate with the General Studies Principal to ensure curriculum consistency. • Communicate with parents/guardians on student progress and any concerns. • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities. 5. Recess Supervision: • Supervise students during recess, promoting safety and positive interactions. • Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies.
