Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (R&P/COMP), Position Description Number T5042P01 and is part of the LA ARNG J1 PERSONNEL AND MANPOWER, National Guard. Must possess or be able to obtain the proper clearance type and level within one year of appointment according to DoD Personnel Security Program Management Directives. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance designated at the State through the use of the Position Designation Tool. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver’s license is mandatory. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication; ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; ability to communicate clearly and effectively; skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level; AND/OR at least Twenty-four (24) months experience that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position; the applicant's educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience; an applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level; specialized experience factors encompass human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force.
