Summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Alder House, Fairchild AFB, WA.
The purpose of this position is to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full service bar.
This is a Flexible (Intermittent) position; guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility.
Duties
Operates a full service bar. Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes. Beverages include but are not limited to, Margaritas, for which no pre-mix is available, Zombies, Singapore Slings, etc. Delivers drinks to bar waiters, or serves directly to patrons. Receives payments or charges to member's account as appropriate. Washes glasses and other bar equipment. Prepares garnishes for mixed drinks. May help stock service bar or portable bar for catered functions.
Responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability. Accepts money, operates a cash register, and makes change. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
This position may require working a variable schedule, which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
This position requires favorable completion of Food Handlers Certificate.
Must meet state and legal age requirement for sale of alcoholic beverages.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters, and fruit and the ability to mix exotic drinks. Ability to follow cash handling procedures. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve problem or seek assistance if needed.
Responsibility: Instructions concerning the proper operation of the bar are furnished orally or in writing by the club or bar management. Bartenders at this level are held responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability.
Physical Effort: Requires walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5-15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10-20 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are usually transported with the aid of a dolly.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Direct deposit is required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
A probationary period may be required.
Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
