The Columbia VA Health Care System is recruiting a Non-Invasive Cardiologist in the fast-growing Dorn Heart & Vascular Center. Special training or interest in CHF is desirable. Cardiac catheterization will not be part of the practice of the selected cardiologist, who will spend most of his/her time in the management of CHF patients. Spacious stress testing labs with new nuclear cameras offer all modalities for the investigation of cardiovascular disease. In addition, the Medical Center houses 2 MRI systems, and 2 multi-slice CT systems to allow development of a robust cardiac imaging program. There is a very active cardiovascular research effort at basic science and clinical/translational levels, as well as a busy teaching service. Significant extramurally funded cardiovascular related research programs are well established within USC-SOM in the areas of cardiovascular development, vascular biology and hypertension, signal transduction, and inflammation.

Benefits:
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program up to $200k.
Pay: Up to $400k p/year, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting, VA contributes 16.6% to pension ) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: up to $1000 p/year
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
