Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th FSS Galaxy Bowling Center. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Incumbent must have the experience and ability to explain and demonstrate the procedures necessary to accomplish the work. Must have experience in planning and directing the acquisition of all equipment, supplies and services for facility maintenance. Must have skills and abilities to identify problems, provide solutions for all work operations and repair of equipment and tools. Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment. Must have a knowledge of the mechanical and electrical principles and of the operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment. Must possess the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturers service manuals. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical, annual audio test may be required. National Agency check. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors, co-workers, customers and vendors. Must have experience in a bowling facility which provided the basic knowledge of bowling programs, procedures and rules in which provided an in-depth knowledge of the operations of the facility. Previous experience in pro-shop operations, use of ball drilling equipment and the repair and adjustment of the surface of bowling balls is also desirable. Must be able to drive a government motor vehicle and submit annual driving records as well as satisfactorily complete drug testing as required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs IS NOT authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
