Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at Chili's Grill and Bar on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Duties Takes reservations and sets up tables for large groups. Inform guests of dinner specials. May be required to receive and submit initial patron drink orders. At the end of the meal, accepts the check from the customer, totals up the sale, and accepts payment, providing change as necessary. Payment may be made in the form of cash, check, or credit card. At the end of each tour of duty, the incumbent clears the cash register, completes all supporting documentation and submits it to supervisor. Elevates problems to supervisor for resolution. Maintains hostess station and register in clean and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Experience in clerical, office or retail work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must include demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, to make change when receiving payments from customers, and to use cash accountability control methods. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
