 - You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
 - This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
 - You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
 - This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
 
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of accounting theories and practices, methods, and techniques; 2) Applying Information Technology systems procedures for principles, concepts, and techniques of financial reporting systems; 3) Reporting techniques, oral and written, and effectively briefing more experienced individuals; and 4) Demonstrating knowledge of principles, techniques, and practices of professional accounting. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
                                            Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED) 
Successful completion of an accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.")
OR
At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
- Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law;
 - A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or
 - Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Physical Demands: Work is principally sedentary. No special physical demands are required.
Work Environment: Work involves normal risks associated with an office environment.
The FMAP is a 24--month training program. You will be officially assigned to the FMCP and stationed at various Navy and Marine Corps activities, referred to as "Homeports". Following successful completion of the 24-month program, participants graduate and are placed in suitable positions at their Homeports.
